| Easter Sunday 9th April | Making a view at Battlemead |
| We will be cutting “windows” in the hedge next to the Thames that we helped to plant a few years ago. This is to give walkers along the Thames Path a view of any wildlife that comes to Battlemead. If time permits we will also give the trees that we planted to the north of East Field some TLC.

| Hundreds of trees have been planted in Thriftwood in the last couple of years. Now that spring has sprung it it possible to tell which of these are still alive. We will be removing the tree guards from the dead whips and weeding the live ones.

| Bisham Woods is a Woodlands Trust site, their only one in Berkshire. The Woodland Trust have mowed the steep area of chalk grassland known as Pig Trough and two weeks ago we started to rake off the mowings, but we didn’t finish. So today we are going to finish the job.

| Raking the meadow.
Bray Pit used to be managed by BBOWT, but a few years ago they decided not to renew the lease with Summerleaze. Since then local volunteers have continued the management regime including giving it an annual haircut. The wildflower meadow will be mown during the week and then on Sunday WMCV joined by members of Wild Maidenhead will rake off the mowings. This is to reduce the nutrients in the soil and encourage the masses of wild flowers which grow in the summer.
